To Our Bay View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Family:
While completing all staff and resident testing onFriday, November 13, one resident and one staff member were detected to have COVID-19. All other tests done on staff and residents were undetected for COVID-19. The resident who was detected for COVID-19 is asymptomatic for the disease and will remain in quarantine until said resident has been determined to be no longer infectious. Close contacts, determined by local health departments and infection control staff, will be notified and monitored for symptoms. Close contacts will be notified with further instructions related to quarantine. Bay View has andwill continue to be cleaning and disinfecting the facilityto control the spread of illness. All staff and residents (with consent) will be tested at the end of this week to prevent the unknowing spread of the virus. Testing will continue weekly for all staff and residents until we have two consecutive testing rounds with all negative test results. Visitation will be suspended until Bay View does not have an additional case in our facility for 14 days.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a virus that is spread even before individuals show symptoms. It spreads from person to person through droplets created when we cough, sneeze, talk, sing or laugh. Thus, it is ever important for all residents, family members, and staff members to closely watch for symptoms that are outside of their “ normal,” and to stay home/in their rooms if they are ill. If symptoms occur, please contact your medical provider to request additional testing.
Please remember to slow the spread of COVID-19:
We all need to continue to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
