To Our Bay View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Family:
In our weekly all staff and resident testing done on Monday, 11/30/2020, two residents tested positive for COVID-19. Both residents are asymptomatic for COVID-19. Residents have been quarantined and are being closely monitored. Approximately 95% of testing results are back at this time.
Close contacts, determined by local health departments and infection control staff, will be notified and monitored for symptoms. Close contacts will be notified with further instructions related to quarantine.
Bay View has and will continue to be cleaning and disinfecting the facility to control the spread of illness. All staff and residents (with consent) will continue to be tested weekly to prevent the unknowing spread of the virus. Testing will continue weekly for all staff and residents until we have two consecutive testing rounds with all negative test results. Visitation will be suspended until Bay View does not have an additional case in our facility for 14 days.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a virus that is spread even before individuals show symptoms. It spreads from person to person through droplets created when we cough, sneeze, talk, sing or laugh. Thus, it is ever important for all residents, family members, and staff members to closely watch for symptoms that are outside of their “ normal,” and to stay home/in their rooms if they are ill. If symptoms occur, please contact your medical provider to request additional testing.
Please remember to slow the spread of COVID-19:
- Stay home when ill.
- Wear a face covering when in public if physically able.
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are unavailable.
- Clean frequently touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, tables, etc.
- Limit unnecessary travel, events, or large gatherings.
We all need to continue to do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
